Are the characters able to animate (e.g. contain sprite sheets with animations)?

they are not animated, sorry to say! If you'd like to try your hand at animating them though, go for it!
They are of great style though!!
I consider myself an artist, but my level (and particularly of isometric drawing) is not there yet.
